Renting a luxury villa in Marrakech: what to look for
Marrakech has hundreds of villas for rent, and the photos often look alike. Here is what truly makes the difference between a nice house and an unforgettable stay.
1. True privacy
Check that the villa, the garden and the pool are for your group only. Some “villas” share a pool or a garden with other houses. At Dar Amna, the 7,000 m² estate is entirely private, with no neighbours in sight.
2. A private pool you can really enjoy
Look at where the pool is: in the sun all day, or with shade nearby? Are there loungers, parasols, a shower? A pool surrounded by gardens and olive trees is far more pleasant than a pool squeezed into a courtyard.
3. Equal bedrooms
For a group, bedrooms of the same standard avoid awkward choices. Ask whether every room has its own bathroom. Dar Amna’s four suites all have a king-size bed, a dressing room, a private balcony and an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower.

4. The right location
Too far, and every trip to the city becomes an expedition; too close, and you lose the calm. Around 25 minutes from the Medina is a good balance. Check the distance to the airport too.
5. Staff and services
Daily housekeeping changes everything on holiday. Ask what is included and what can be arranged: a private cook, breakfast, groceries, transfers, excursions.
6. Security
A guard on site, day and night, means you can leave the doors open to the garden and sleep peacefully. At Dar Amna, security is included 24/7.
7. Clear terms
Before booking, make sure you know the check-in and check-out times, the minimum stay, the deposit and the house rules. At Dar Amna: check-in from 16:00, check-out by 10:00, minimum 3 nights, a deposit by bank transfer and the balance on arrival.
