Marrakech in winter: sunny days and snowy peaks
When Europe turns grey, Marrakech often stays bright and blue. Winter is a wonderful, and often underrated, time to visit.
The weather
Days are frequently sunny and mild, pleasant for walking in the Medina and lunching outside. Nights, however, are cold, especially in the countryside: pack warm layers.
Snow on the Atlas
Winter is the season when the Atlas Mountains turn white. From Dar Amna, the snowy peaks fill the windows of the suites facing the Atlas, a view many guests never forget.

Why it is a good time
- Sunshine without the summer heat
- Fewer crowds outside the Christmas and New Year holidays
- Clear skies for the mountains and the desert
Warm at the villa
Dar Amna has heating throughout, two lounges for long evenings together and, on request, a private cook to prepare warming tagines and harira.
