The Ourika Valley: a day trip from Marrakech
The Ourika Valley is the easiest way to taste the Atlas Mountains: about an hour from Marrakech, a green valley follows a river between Berber villages and red-earth slopes.
Along the river
The road climbs gently, lined with cafés and small restaurants set right by the water, where you can have lunch with your feet almost in the river.
Setti Fatma and its waterfalls
At the end of the road, the village of Setti Fatma is the starting point for a walk to a series of waterfalls. The path is rocky in places: wear good shoes, and consider a local guide.

Good to know
- Go early to enjoy the cool morning and avoid the crowds, especially at weekends.
- In spring and after rain, the river and waterfalls are at their most beautiful.
- Bring cash for lunch and small purchases.
From Dar Amna
Dar Amna is in the countryside south of Marrakech, a convenient base for the Atlas. On request, our team can help arrange a driver or an excursion, and you are back at the villa for a swim before dinner.
