Imlil and Toubkal National Park: the High Atlas from Marrakech
If the Atlas on the horizon makes you want to go closer, Imlil is the place. About an hour and a half from Marrakech, this mountain village is the gateway to Toubkal National Park.
North Africa’s highest peak
Jebel Toubkal, at about 4,167 metres, is the highest summit in North Africa. Climbing it takes two days with a guide, but you do not need to reach the top to enjoy the mountains.
Easy walks
Around Imlil, paths lead through walnut trees and terraced fields to Berber villages, with mint tea served in family houses along the way. A local guide makes the day richer and safer.

Tips
- Wear walking shoes and bring layers: it is cooler in the mountains.
- In winter, snow can close some paths.
- Leave early to make the most of the day.
Back to the villa
At Dar Amna, the same mountains fill the windows of three suites. On request, our team can help arrange a driver and a guide.
